The capital of the most populated country in the world, Beijing in China has big problems with high leases of apartments that are not affordable for a big part of population. Dai Haifei, a fresh graduate from the Hunan University of Architecture has come with an original design concept of an egg-shaped housing.
After two months of experimenting he created a house with a bamboo construction filled with grass. The total cost was incredible 960 dollars. Tiny interior has just one lamp powered by photovoltaic panels on the roof, one bed and a water tank. Considering the small surface, it can house only one person. The height from the ground to the ceiling is only two meters. The building is mobile, it has wheels, so it can moved anywhere the owner wants to. Facades are made of sacks filled with grass seeds that should serve as a natural isolation material when it will grow.
